The American Gem Society Laboratories, LLC) (AGS Labs), has added QR codes as a new feature to their grading documents to enhance the experience of mobile device users.

A unique QR code will be assigned to each new AGS number and when it is scanned, it will link the user directly to the AGS Labs website’s Report Verification section, so that the document and data verification for the certified diamond in question will be much simpler and more convenient.

The reports that will be using the QR codes include the Diamond Quality Report series, the AGS Diamond Quality Document series, and the AGS Diamond Quality Certificate.

Each report will have a QR code that can be read through the use of an Android or Apple smartphone reader app.

Customers who scan the codes will have the ability to download the PDF version of the document onto their mobile device. Giving consumers all of the information in the palm of their hands to review then or later and can be very useful for comparison shopping.

Individuals who scan the QR code will be prompted to download the free AGS Labs application. They may accept or decline. Should they decline, they will be automatically redirected to the report verification page of the website, where the PDF version of the document will be made available to them.

The new AGS Labs feature will simplify the experience for consumers who will no longer need to supply the individual AGS number and weight when they want to use a report verification document for comparison shopping.
